How to check MAC address in network connection in Windows XP?

Checking MAC address in network connection in Windows XP.

    Regarding how to obtain MAC address, please check it in Command Prompt or Network Connection Details.
    For detailed steps on obtaining the MAC address, please refer to the information below.

    Note:
    If a network bridge has been established, the MAC address may not be displayed correctly.
    After removing the network bridge, please follow the steps below to obtain MAC address.


    Remark
    The MAC address, which is obtained by the connection of expansion slot and expension base station, is different from that obtained by the connection of network card of the computer itself.
    Please double confirm the MAC address when using expansion slot and expansion base station.

    ■ How to check MAC address in Command Prompt?

     


    1. Click Start, and then click All Programs→Accessories→Command Prompt.


    2. Type ipconfig /all in Command Prompt and press Enter.


    3. When the Windows IP Configuration dialogue box appears, please check the Physical Address.
      The numbers displayed in Physical Address is the MAC address of the network card.



      Note
      When using wireless network connection, the numbers displayed in Physical Address of Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection is the MAC address of the network card.
    4. Type exit in the dialogue box shown as below, press Enter and close Command Prompt.

    As for Local Area Connection, please refer to the operation steps below.
    1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.


    2. Click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Network Connections.


    3. Right-click Local Area Connection, and then click Status.


    4. When the Local Area Connection Status dialogue box appears, click Support.


    5. Click Details... in Connection status.


    6. When the Network Connection Details dialogue box appears, please find the Physical Address in Network Connection Details.
      The Physical Address displayed is the MAC address.

    ● Wireless Network Connection


    1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.


    2. Click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Network Connections.


    3. Right-click Wireless Network Connection, and then click Status.


    4. When the Wireless Network Connection Status dialogue box will appear, click Support.


    5. Click Details... in Connection status.


    6. When the Network Connection Details dialogue box appears, please find Physical Address in Network Connection Details.
      The Physical Address displayed is the MAC address.
