- Check that MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) is supported by your network operator and/or subscription.
- Download settings for internet and MMS automatically.
To download internet and MMS settings
- Find and tap Settings → Network & internet → Internet settings.
- Tap Accept. Once the settings have been downloaded successfully, (Internet settings downloaded icon) appears in the status bar and mobile data traffic is turned on automatically.
Note: On Android 12, the Internet settings menu will be removed, and the Internet and MMS settings will be downloaded automatically at the regular software update timing.
Hint
If the settings cannot be downloaded to your device, check the signal strength of your mobile or Wi-Fi network connections. Move to an open location free from obstructions or get close to a window and then try again.
- You can manually add internet and messaging settings on your device at any time. If necessary, contact your network operator for the required information.
To add internet and MMS settings
- Find and tap Settings → Network & internet → Mobile network(SIMs in case of Android 12).
- If you’re using two SIM cards, select a SIM card.
- Tap Access Point Names → (Add icon). You may find the item under Advanced.
- Tap Name and enter a name of your choice, then tap OK.
- Tap APN and enter the access point name, then tap OK.
- Enter all other required information. If you don’t know what information is required, contact your network operator for more details.
- When you’re done, tap (More icon) → Save.
- Check the signal strength in the status bar to make sure your device is connected to a network. If the signal is weak or you have no signal, move to an open location free from obstructions, or get close to a window.
- Check the device memory to see if memory is available. If the memory is full, remove messages to free up space.
To view the memory status
- Find and tap Settings → Storage.
To delete a message
- Find and tap (Messages icon).
- Tap the conversation containing the message you want to delete.
- Touch and hold the message you want to delete, then tap (Delete icon) → Delete.
To delete conversations
- Find and tap (Messages icon).
- Touch and hold the conversation that you want to delete.
- Tap any other conversations that you want to delete, then tap (Delete icon) → Delete.
- Check that the MMS auto download function is enabled in your messaging settings.
To enable MMS auto download
- Find and tap (Messages icon).
- Tap (More icon) → Settings.
- If you’re using two SIM cards, select a SIM card. If you’re using one SIM card, tap Advanced.
- Tap the switch beside Auto-download MMS and/or Auto-download MMS when roaming to enable this function.
- Use the full number when you send a message. When you enter the country code, use "+" instead of "00".
- Turn off your device and then turn it back on. By doing this you turn off all running applications and free up memory, which sometimes automatically solves the issue.
- Update your device to ensure that you have optimal performance and the latest enhancements.
