There is a sound like "ka li ka li" coming from the VAIO.

The sound caused by the different specifications of the hard disk. It is not the bug.

The occurrence above will not appear frequently if the hard disk is working.
Besides, the two occurrences below are caused by the different specifications of the hard disk.

    • "ka li ka li"

When the computer is plugged into an electrical outlet, the sound like “carbazole carbazole” occurs before the Sony Logo
or VAIO Logodisplays as the hard disk is searching for the files.
Such sound will appear when the movement of hard disk head is too large in the hard disk configuration.
In addition, when files are fragmented, the computer must search the hard disk when the file is opened to piece it back together. The response time can be significantly longer.
    • "ka Kon"

the sound will come out when the head of the hard disk stops working.
Not read or save on hard disk for a period of time or OS and other programs (software, ect.) finishes its task, the sound will appear because the computer want to protect the hard disk head when it moves the hard disk head to the safe place.

Even the indicator light of the hard disk is blinking, it may mean one program ends and the other starts. The hard disk head is not working.

    Note:
If the user cannot accept the sound or still has doubts on the sound, please perform a Disk Scan or select Disk Check in VAIO Hardware Diagnostic Tools.(Only the pre-installed versions have VAIO Hardware Diagnostic Tools).
Besides, the hard disk will save or read data periodically, which will cause no problem. (It is proper.)
