Countries and regions where Sony's TV supports Amazon Alexa devices
There are two possible reasons why voice control suddenly stopped working:
- You've been signed out (maybe you haven't used this service for a while)
- The link with the Amazon Alexa app* on your smartphone has been disconnected. If the Amazon Alexa app* received a notification, following this notification may restore the link to the TV.
* The Amazon Alexa app is a mobile application provided by Amazon.
Follow the steps below to perform the necessary operations on your TV and smartphone.
- On the Apps tab on the TV’s Home Menu, select See all → TV Control with Smart Speakers.
- When the Account logged out screen appears, select OK.
Note: If the Account logged out screen does not appear, you are already signed in. Skip the steps below and refer instead to the item 2. Link the Amazon Alexa app on your smartphone to the account registered on the TV. - Follow the on-screen instructions to input the TV activation code on your mobile device.
- When the activation code has been confirmed, tap Proceed to sign in.
- Sign in using the ID you have been using up to this point (either your Sony account ID or an Amazon, Apple, Facebook, or Google ID).
Note: Sony has merged the IDs used with Sony product services into a single Sony account. If you select an Amazon, Apple, Facebook, or Google ID, the transfer to your Sony account will start. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the transfer procedure.
- Open the Amazon Alexa app on your smartphone.
- When the Sony’s TV skill screen appears, tap Enable to use.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to link the account you are signed into on the TV to the Sony’s TV skill. The process is complete when the message Your BRAVIA account has been successfully linked is displayed. Tap Close.
- Additionally, make sure to select the correct Alexa device you want to use.
Select the name of the TV displayed in Devices in the Amazon Alexa app on your smartphone, and select the Alexa device you want to use from Linked Alexa Devices.
Note: Make sure the Alexa device name is dimmed and says Already paired with a device.
Note: If you have the same TV name when selecting a TV in the Amazon Alexa app, please refer to Multiple TV names for the same TV in the Amazon Alexa app in the article FAQs for Using Amazon Alexa with BRAVIA TVs.
