Why are images not displayed and only audio is being played back during the streaming playback of a movie?

Images are not displayed and only audio is being played back during the streaming playback of a movie.

This symptom could be due to the following reasons:

1. The communication speed is not fast enough. If the streaming playback of a movie is done in the environment of the slow communication speed, only the audio is reproduced but images are not played back.

To execute the streaming playback of the movie, communication speed that is 3 times faster than the frequency to be used for the movie is required.
If the streaming playback of the movie is done in 40kbps through the communication line of 128kbps, the movie may not be played back properly.

2. CODEC that is necessary for the steaming playback of the movie may not be installed.

If the movie is being played back in the state where CODEC is not installed, only the audio is played back and not the movie.

Note:
* Some movie formats require a special CODEC version.
* Installation of CODEC may affect the normal operation of the VAIO computer.
