How to set up proxy server to connect to the Internet?

● How to use a proxy server to connect to the Internet?

1. Double-click Internet Explorer 6.0.
   

2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options....
   

3. Click Connections.
   

4. In Dial-up and Virtual Private Network settings, click the Dial-up Connection icon, and then click Settings....
   
   
   

5. Under the Proxy server in the Dial-up Connection Settings dialogue box, check Use a proxy server for this connection (These settings will not apply to other connections)..
   
   
   

    

6. When user connects to the Internet, type the address and port number of proxy server in Address and Port.
   
   

   ※	If user doesn't know the address or port number of the proxy server, please consult the network administrator.

   
   In addition, if user wants to set a server or port number different from that in the protocol, please click Advanced..., and set in Proxy Settings.
   
   
   

   • Servers
     Type the Proxy address and port.
     

     ※	If user doesn't know the web address or port number of the proxy server, please consult the network administrator.

   • Exceptions
     If user can connect to the web address of the Internet without using proxy server, please type the address in Do not use proxy server for addresses beginning with.
     

7. Click OK to close the window.

●How to use automatically detect settings or automatic configuration script?

1. Double-click Internet Explorer 6.0.
   

2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options....
   

3. Click Connections.
   

4. Click the Dial-up Connection icon in Dial-up and Virtual Private Network settings, and then click Settings....
   
   
   

5. In Dial-up Connection Settings, set Automatic configuration.
   
   
   
   
   • Automatically detect settings
     Automatically detect the settings of proxy server or automatically perform settings.
     
   • Use automatic configuration script
     Perform settings according to information in script files provided by system management.
     
     Type the file address or name with setting information of Internet Explorer in Address.
     This file is made by system management, and can run Internet Explorer through enterprise system.
     
     

     ※	If user doesn't know how to set the file address automatically, please consult the network administrator.

     
     

6. Click OK to close the window.
