How to use security center in Windows XP?

    • After installing Windows XP Service Pack 2(SP2), user will see Security Center in the Control Panel.
    • How to use security Center?

    In order to protect PC from the hostile attacks of viruses and worms, Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) has enhanced security technology.
    The following security items have been improved.
    • Network protection function

    • E-mail function
    • Browse function

    Security Center includes the above-mentioned functions relating to Network Protection.
    Security Center offers the following functions to networked PCs.

    • Firewall
    • Automatic Updates
    • Virus Protection



    The functions are shown below


    Firewall

    Windows Firewall prevents the PC from unauthorized user's visit via Internet or networks.
    Regarding the limits of visiting from outside, default setting is that all the programs and services are prevented by Windows Firewall except for some programs and services.
    User can add an exception for a program or service to allow them to connect to the Internet.



    Automatic Updates

    When Automatic Updates is enabled, the PC will detect important security updates published on the Windows Update Website regularly.
    These important updates include security and other important updates in the Windows Update Website can help protect the PC from new viruses and other safety-threatening attacks transmitted by Internet and networks.

    In addition, user can set Automatic download and install important updates or Notify users when automatic download runs.



    Virus Protection

    Virus protection is set to protect the PC from viruses or other safety-threatening attacks.
