What to do when the built-in camera cannot be used properly?

    • Both static images and dynamic video images taken by the built-in camera are very blurry.
    • The static images and dynamic video images taken by VAIO CAMERA CAPTURE UTILITY and other software are blurry.
    • The built-in camera cannot take videos or photos.

    STEP 1 Is there anything wrong with the shooting environment or lens?
    STEP 2 Has user adjusted the focus and aimed at the foci?
    STEP 3 Has user started multi camera software?
    STEP 4 Is there enough memory available in video card?
    STEP 5 Initialize the settings of BIOS
    STEP 6 Reinstall the driver for the build-in camera.




    STEP 1 Is there anything wrong with the shooting environment or lens?


    Was the shot captured against the light source?
    Shooting under a fluorescent lamp will cause the light to reflect to the image.
    Is there any shadow on the image?
    If there is shadow on the image, red or green pigeons will appear on the image.
    Is there any dirt on the lens?
    If there is some dirt on the lens, the camera can not shoot perfect image.
    If there is some dirt, please clean it carefully.

    Note
    Please blow the dust off the lens or move a brush around the surface of the lens to remove dust.
    If there is too much dirt on the lens, clean it with special detergent which can be bought from the market.




    STEP 2 Has user adjusted the focus and aimed at the foci?


    Please confirm whether user has adjusted the focus or aimed at the foci.
    If user hasn't adjusted the focus or aimed at the foci, the static image and dynamic images video taken by the camera will be fuzzy.
    If user hasn't adjusted the focus or aimed at the foci, please rotate the focusing ring until the image is clear before taking pictures or videos.

    STEP 3 Has user started multi camera software?


    The camera cannot shoot normally if multi shooting software like URecSight and multi image processing of dynamic video software like GigaPocket are started at the same time.When starting multi software, please close the inactive software.




    STEP 4 Is there enough memory in the video card?


    Depending on the using state of image mode, color quality and etc, images can not display properly if there is not enough memory in the video card.
    If this is the case, please lower the color quality to test the issue.

    STEP 5 Initialize settings of BIOS.


    When the settings of BIOS are incorrect, the related hardware can not work normally.
    Please confirm whether the camera can display images and shoot normally after initializing the settings of BIOS.



    STEP 6 Reinstall the driver of the built-in camera.


    Please refer to the following information to reinstall the camera driver.

    • Here are the computer models that are equipped with build-in cameras.

      Restart the computer after deleting the camera device in Device Manager, and reinstall the driver of camera device again.

      1. Open Device Manager.

      2. Click + key on the left of Vision Facilities.

      3. Delete the Device Driver below Vision Facilities.

        ※ The exact names of driver vary from different models.

      4. Close all the windows and restart Windows system.
        After the computer restarts, install the new drivers.

    • Here are the computer models that are equipped with vision intelligence camera (PCGA-VC*、PCGA-UVC**)

      Install the drivers in the CD-ROM in the host.
      Please refer to the instruction of each visual intelligent camera to obtain detailed steps on how to install the driver.
    If the symptoms persists,there might be some issues with the camera hardware. Please try to restore installation or repair it if it's necessary.

    Reference information
    If the following issue occurs, there is something wrong with the camera hardware.
    Please note that installation restoring may not resolve the problem.

    • Starting two or more software which uses MOTION EYE separately, any software can not form an image.
      E.g.: VAIO CAMERA CAPTURE UTILITY, With You Call and etc.

    • Even the camera device is disabled in Device Manager, the sample video can still be played normally when using the pre-install model of VAIO CAMERA CAPTURE UTILITY.
