Navigation stops working when I turn off the screen

You might experience that navigation apps such as Google Maps™ stop working and that location services (GPS) are deactivated when the screen of your Xperia™ device is turned off. The message GPS signal lost may also appear. One of the reasons that the navigation feature doesn’t work may be that STAMINA mode has been activated automatically to save battery power.

To solve the problem, try these actions one after the other. Verify after each action whether the problem was solved before trying the next one.

    • If possible, connect your device to a charger. STAMINA mode is deactivated as soon as you connect the charger to your device. Refresh your navigation app to update it.
    • Turn on the screen, and keep it on. Open and refresh your navigation app.
    • Turn off STAMINA mode manually.
