The screen doesn't react to touch - how can I still use the phone?

If the screen of your phone or tablet has stopped working, you may still be able to navigate the display and use the device using a mouse and a USB OTG adapter cable. You can move content from your device to a memory card (SD card) or to a cloud backup service (online account) before you hand in the device for repair.

To back up your content, your device must be unlocked. If you use a screen lock, you may be able to unlock the screen lock using a mouse and then backup your content. Note that unlocking the screen using a mouse may be difficult or not even possible for some phone models. Also, depending on the extent of damage to the device, the solution given here might not work.
