I cannot update my device to Android 7.0 (Nougat)
You might experience issues when updating your device to Android™ 7.0 (Nougat):
- If you try to update OTA (over-the-air), your device may restart after downloading the update. After the restart, you may receive the error message saying that the update could not be installed kResultCode_DeltaUpdateResultDidReturnFail, explaining that the update could not be installed.
The reason why the update could not be installed is that while the device is turned off Google™ checks the OTA software availability on the Google™ server, but not the SOMC FOTA server, during shutdown. Xperia™ is using the SOMC FOTA server, and since no new software is detected by Google™ the command is deleted. To avoid this issue, Google™ has been asked to register the devices on the Google™ server.
- If you try to update the device using Xperia™ Companion, you may receive the error message UEGetPhoneInfoXCSDevice UE_2006.
A software update has been released to fix this issue.
Note! Software rollouts are a phased process - timings & availability may vary by market/carrier.
