VAIO Self Help Guide

    Use this guide if you encounter any problems on your VAIO computer.

    VAIO DOES NOT POWER ON AND NO BOOT
    • Check if the AC adapter is free from any defect.
    • Does the LED on the AC adapter lights on?
    • Have you recently added any component?
    • The computer does not boot completely.
    • Scan your computer for viruses.

    VAIO HANGS, FREEZES, SLOW BOOT UP OR ENCOUNTERED BSOD
    • Randomly hangs and freezes.
    • Hang or freezes while browsing.
    • Can a virus make my computer hang or freeze?

    VAIO SHUTDOWNS OR POWER OFF
    • The computer gets warm.
    • Check the air vent.

    VAIO HAS EXCESSIVE FAN NOISE
    • Evaluate the location of noise
    • Install updates.
    • Start the computer into Safe Mode.
    • Perform System Restore.

    FUNCTION KEYS ARE NOT WORKING
    • Works intermittently?
    • Touchpad completely unresponsive.
    • Function keys do not work at all.
