What is ODD power saving mode available on TX series VAIO computers?

About ODD power saving mode.

    ODD power saving mode is designed by Sony to make battery life longer. When computer starts up or resumes from hibernation or standby mode, ODD application will check if there is a disc in optical driver. If there is, the computer will prompt users to turn off the power of optical driver for longer battery life.



    Note:
    * If there is a disc in optical driver when starting up or resuming, no prompt will appear.
    * Users can power on the optical driver from ODD mode by pressing software eject button in multimedia control buttons.
    * Users can modify some settings of ODD mode in VAIO power management.
