Notice to Owners of VAIO VGN-TZ Notebooks

Sony has recently discovered that within certain units of its VAIO "TZ series" notebook, a symptom may arise in which the unit's plastic could be deformed in the DC jack inlet or LCD surrounding area due to extreme high temperatures. This has the potential to affect models which were sold between May 2007 and July 2008.

In order to continue to use our product safely, Sony is offering a free of charge inspection and repair service for units covered by the affected serial numbers (see below).

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Your understanding and cooperation is much appreciated.

Symptom and cause
Distortion to the plastic areas around the DC jack inlet or LCD surrounding area due to extreme high temperatures.

Applicable model
VAIO "TZ series" notebook.

How to check the model name and serial number
The model name and serial number are indicated on a sticker located at the bottom of the notebook.
