How to download a free application from the Windows Store in Windows 8? 

    1. From Start screen, select Store app.
    2. The Windows Store is launched.
    3. Select an application where Free is being displayed. In the screen shot below, Inrix, eBay, Wikipedia and Flow apps are Free apps you can download.
    4. Select Install. 
       
    5. You may be prompted to sign in with your Microsoft account. Choose Sign up for a Microsoft Account if you do not have a Microsoft Account.
    6. Input your email and password.
       
    7. Select Save.
    8. The software is now being downloaded and installed.
    9. Press the <Windows> key to switch back to Start screen. The application is now being displayed on the Start screen.
