How can I find my Televisions and Home Cinema model name and serial number?

Understanding your TV's model name

It may look like your TV model name consists of an arbitrary set of letters and numbers, but there is a certain logic behind it.

Each model contains 3 segments which can help you identify key information about your TV.

1. The first part of the model name (before the hyphen) indicates the TV’s resolution: 2K (KDL) and 4K (KD). 
2. The numbers after the numbers after the hyphen indicates the screen size in inches 
3. The final sequence of letters and numbers conveys a certain production series. That’s more important for support and repair purposes 
   • The last letter can indicate a variance in the colour of the bezel and frame or stand 
   • If the letter starts with an "A" that means it is part of our OLED lineup 

NOTES:

• When searching for general information on the support site, please use the model name
• Here are some examples of correct model names: KD-55X8507C, KDL-32EX710 and KLV-40NX520

How to check your model name

1. On the product sticker

The model name is normally found on the sticker located at the back of the TV, or engraved on the front panel of the TV. Please be aware that the model and serial numbers are different:

1. Model name
2. Serial number

Option A - Sony's Android TV (software version 3.533 or earlier):

1. Press the HOME button on the remote
2. Select [Settings] > [TV] > [About] > [Device name] > [System information]

Option B - Sony's Android TV (software version 3.843 or later):

1. Press the Help button on the remote
2. Select [System information]

Option C - For non-Android TVs:

1. Press the HOME button on the remote
2. Select [Help] or [Settings] > [Customer Support] the model name will appear at the top right-hand corner of the screen

NOTE: Steps may differ depending on the model and software version.

3. The original box

In case you cannot access the TV settings menu, or your TV is wall-mounted so you can’t see your sticker, you can always check the original product packaging or the user manual.
