Frequently Asked Questions about adding and removing apps on Blu-ray Disc players

Can I add or install apps to my Blu-ray Disc player?

You can only use the apps that are preinstalled on your Blu-ray Disc player. Apps cannot be added or installed to the Blu-ray Disc player.
NOTE: The VEWD TV Store (formerly Opera TV Store) is no longer available on Sony’s Blu-ray Disc player.

Can I remove or uninstall apps from the Blu-ray Disc player that I don’t use? 

The preinstalled apps cannot be removed or uninstalled. 

Can I add or remove apps from the My Apps area?

Yes, you can add or remove apps from the My Apps area.

Follow either of these two methods to add apps to the My Apps area:

• Method 1
• 1. Select + in the My Apps area.
  2. Select your favorite app from the All Apps screen, and press ENTER on the remote control.
• Method 2
• 1. Open the All Apps screen and select the relevant app.
  2. Press the OPTIONS button on the remote control.
  3. Select Add to My Apps to register the app to the My Apps area.

Follow these steps to remove apps from the My Apps area:

1. Press the OPTIONS button on the remote control.
2. Select Remove Application to remove the app in the My Apps area.

Can I remove apps from the Featured Apps area?

No, you cannot remove apps from the Featured Apps area.

Why are only a few apps displayed when I press the HOME button on the remote control?

This can happen if there is an intermittent or weak network connection. Check the network connection and the network settings. For details, refer to the product manuals.
