The LCD screen is blank or appears dark or black.
Follow the steps below to troubleshoot this issue.
IMPORTANT: If model-specific information is needed to complete any of these steps, refer to the instructions supplied with the product.
- Make sure the camera is turned on.
NOTE: If the camera won't turn on, further troubleshooting is required .
- If applicable, make sure the lens cover has been removed before taking pictures.
- If applicable, press the DISPLAY button several times to see if the LCD back light is working.
NOTE:
- Depending on the camera model, the DISPLAY button may be labeled as DISP or with a icon.
This button could be a stand-alone button or incorporated as one of the arrow buttons on a control wheel depending on the model of camera. To know more about the DISPLAY button of the camera, check the supplied manual of the camera.
- If your camera has a FINDER/LCD button, press the button and make sure the LCD screen displays.
- Depending on the camera model, the DISPLAY button may be labeled as DISP or with a icon.
- Make sure no Audio/Video (A/V) cables are connected for viewing pictures on a TV; the LCD screen does not display when an A/V cable is connected.
- Reset the camera back to original factory settings.
If the above steps does not help to resolve the symptom, the product may require Service.
