Why does the video camera stop abruptly during recording?

    You have most likely selected a video file size (resolution) that is optimised for multimedia messages (messages sent via MMS). The recording time for this video size is limited so that the video files can fit in a multimedia message. To be able to record longer videos, you have to change to a video resolution other than MMS or Multimedia message.

    Changing the video file size

    The instructions (A, B or C) differ depending on which generation of camera software is installed on your Xperia™ device.

    Instruction A (devices running Android 6.0 or higher)

    To change the video size

    1. Activate the camera.
    2. Swipe to the video camera .
    3. Tap the gear icon .
    4. Tap Video resolution and select a video resolution other than MMS.

    Instruction B

    To change the video size

    1. Activate the camera.
    2. Tap the capturing mode icon, for example , then tap Manual.
    3. Make sure that the video camera is selected.
    4. Tap the menu button (three vertical dots), then tap Video resolution and select a video resolution other than MMS.

    Instruction C

    To change the video size

    1. Activate the camera.
    2. Make sure that the video camera is selected.
    3. Press the Menu key or tap the menu button (three vertical dots), then tap Video resolution or Video size and select a video size other than MMS or Multimedia message.
