How to uninstall PlayMemories Home (Windows / Mac).
IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check the Applicable Products and Categories section of this article before starting these steps.
This article pertains to models that are compatible with PlayMemories Home. For details, refer to the instruction manual and other documentation for your device.
Operations for uninstalling the software are as follows.
NOTE:
- Images saved on the computer will not be deleted by uninstalling PlayMemories Home.
- End all running applications before uninstalling.
- Uninstalling will not work if PlayMemories Home and related software in particular are running.
For Windows
- Windows 10:

- Move the mouse cursor to the bottom left corner of the screen and right-click the Start menu button.
- Click Control Panel from the displayed list.
- Click Programs and Features or Uninstall a program.
- Right-click the PlayMemories Home.
- Click Uninstall.
- Click OK.
- Windows 8.1:

- Right-click the PlayMemories Home icon displayed on the start window.
- Click Uninstall from the displayed list.
- Select PlayMemories Home from the Uninstall or change a program list.
- Click Uninstall.
- Click OK.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation.
NOTE: If the message “PlayMemories Home is running” is displayed, shut down PlayMemories Home using the Task Manager and then try uninstalling it again. Refer to the following FAQ for the operating procedure.
I cannot install or uninstall the software when the message PlayMemories Home is running is displayed.
For Mac
- Select Go from the tasks at the top.
- Click Applications.
- Drag PlayMemories Home from the Applications folder and drop it into the Trash icon.
- The uninstallation is complete when PlayMemories Home disappears from the Applications folder.
