I have used TomTom for many years and my latets is a model 6200. That was the reason I choose the Sony unit, because it came with The TomTom satnav, but realise now it's a old map and no updates avaidable, quite disappointed.

Module is a nice add on but lacks ability to do map updates. Conflict between Sony and TomTom has flawed map update process. Maps will not update as directed at the TomTom site. Map that came with unit is version 975.7769 and was over 4.4 gb in size. The so called maps for update at the TomTom support site were version 9.80 but were only 2.93 in file size. The map that came with unit has much more map info.

The product is easy to install to my head unit in my car, plug & play as it were, but the maps are 2 years, yes 2 years out of date!! Not good enough and to top it all off i cannot update the maps with TomTom or Sony. The product is a very good idea but a pity that Sony & TomTom cannot get there act together and sort out the updating issue. Not good enough!!

This navigation is useless... I can't update maps in it... and I've just bought it with a radio XAV-AX100

I purchased and installed this module few weeks ago and it fulfills all my expectations. The map is very accurate and precise, voice commands are clear and logical. I appreciate the color adjustment so that it nicely fits my color scheme in car (green). Installation is simple and no special equipment is needed.

I was very impressed with the UI and the operation of this navigation unit. It is a large upgrade over the previous generation.
