Caption “CREATED FOR CREATION”

Caption “Vlog camera ZV-1”

Front view of camera with wind screen attached, LCD screen folding out, then mounted on shooting grip, with the caption “Vlog camera ZV-1” and vlogger’s image displayed on screen

Presenter sitting at table with ZV-1

Presenter:

“Hey everyone, how’s it going. Today I’m going to introduce you to the vlog camera ZV-1 from Sony. The ZV-1 is a vlog camera for all content creators.”

Clip of vlogger recording a cosmetic product review, then clip of tourist recording in a temple and ryokan (traditional Japanese inn)”

 Presenter:

“It’s designed to create high-quality content with simplicity in mind. It’s perfect for those who want to upgrade from their smartphones to a camera with a more professional level of quality.”

Clip of artist soldering an LED display and showing it to vlog camera, then front view of ZV-1

Presenter:

“A lot of people might hear the word ‘camera’ and think it’s going to have a lot of complicated settings, and menus that are hard to understand, but with the ZV-1 you actually don’t get that. It comes out of the box with settings already made for you to just go out and create content whenever you want to.”

Cut back to presenter sitting at table, with caption “Body built for vlog”

Presenter:

“So now I’m going to explain the actual camera body, as it was built specifically for vlogging.”

Caption “Movie button”

Presenter:

“The Movie button is the biggest on the entire body, making it really easy to find and press whenever you want to start or stop recording.”

Caption “Body grip”

Presenter:

“This front grip makes it easy to hold while you’re taking selfies or vlog videos.”

Caption “Vari-angle LCD Screen” then front view of ZV-1 with screen folded out

Presenter:

“So one of the best parts of the camera to me is actually the Vari-angle LCD screen. It makes it super-easy to tell what you’re recording and keep track of it while you are.”

Caption “Recording lamp” then front view of ZV-1 with lamp turning on and graphic highlight

Presenter:

“There’s also this recording lamp on the front that lets you know if you’re actually recording or not. It’s always a bummer when you think you’ve got a good shot, and you get to the end just to find out that you actually haven’t recorded anything.”

Caption “Image quality”

Presenter:

“Next I’m going to tell you about the image quality of the ZV-1 and how it makes taking high-quality videos really simple.”

Caption “Image quality” over clip of selfie-shooting vlogger walking, then still on a train platform, then still of another vlogger at a city intersection

Presenter:

“The image quality is optimised for vlogs. When people hear ‘high-quality videos’ they tend to think of a blurred-out background and a very in-focus or crisp foreground or subject.”

Caption “Image quality” over “Exmor RS CMOS Sensor” logo and graphic of sensor with the label “1.0-type”, then front view of lens

Presenter:

“Despite its size, the ZV-1 is equipped with a 1-type image sensor and an F1.8 lens, which makes it really easy to keep the subject in focus and make it stand out.”

Cut back to presenter sitting at the table, then a close-up of his finger pressing the Bokeh switch, then clip of vlogger without background blur (caption “Background blur: Clear”), then with background blur (caption “Background blur: Bokeh”)

Presenter::

“To get the blurred background effect, you simply press the Bokeh switch right here, and if you’d like to get the background and foreground back into the same level of clarity you just press the switch again, and it turns off.”

Cut back to presenter sitting at the table with caption “Autofocus”

Presenter:

“Another thing with video is that you always want to keep the subject, or yourself, clearly in focus, right?”

Caption “Autofocus” over clip of vlogger selfie shooting at temple, then split-screen with caption “Conventional camera (Contrast AF)” on left, and caption “Vlog camera ZV-1 (Phase detection AF)” on right, with focus shifting to face of model who abruptly jumps up into the foreground of both clips

Presenter:

“The ZV-1 uses phase-detection autofocus to follow the subject and snap to different focal points really quickly. If you look at the comparison shots, it’s pretty obvious, right? Even compared to a contrast-AF camera, it’s really fast.”

Caption “Real-time Eye AF”

Presenter:

“The ZV-1 is an incredibly smart camera that uses AI to detect your face and eyes to make sure that the subject always stays in focus.”

Caption “Real-time Eye AF” over clip of vlogger selfie shooting at temple, with left eye tracked by a white rectangle

Presenter:

“All you have to do is look into the camera. After that, the camera will automatically detect your face and your eyes, and bring you into focus. This is indicated by a small square on your face or eyes.”

Cut back to presenter sitting at the table with caption “Product Showcase Setting”

Presenter:

“When it comes to shooting indoors, the grip’s ability to change into a tripod really shines.”

Caption “Product Showcase Setting” over presenter speaking to camera, then close-up of Delete / Product Showcase button

Presenter:

“You’ve probably seen those product review videos where people take the product, and put it in front of their hands, right? There’s a Product Showcase setting that can be activated by pressing the Delete button, so you can easily film review and tutorial videos without diving deep into the settings.”

Split screen with left clip captioned “Product Showcase Setting Off” and right clip captioned “Product Showcase Setting On”, showing vlogger holding up cosmetic accessories in front of the camera. In the right clip only, focus transfers to the product rather than remaining on the vlogger’s face. The sequence is repeated with two cosmetic products shown to the camera

Presenter:

“Here you can see the difference it makes having the Product Showcase settings on. See how the camera quickly autofocuses onto the product being reviewed?”

Caption “Skin tone” over presenter speaking to camera, then split screen with vloggers of different ethnicities, showing natural skin tones for all

Presenter:

“If you’re worried about how your face and skin look on video, don’t be. The ZV-1 was developed based on research of various skin tones and ethnicities, and will adjust itself to make any skin tone look natural and healthy.”

Caption “Soft Skin Effect” over presenter speaking to camera, then split screen with vlogger speaking to camera with captions “Soft Skin Effect Off” (left) and “Soft Skin Effect Mid” (right)

Presenter:

“In addition, the ZV-1 has a Soft Skin Effect which makes the skin appear smoother. The difference is fairly easy to spot. Looks good, right?”

Rear view of camera with menu showing the Soft Skin Effect selection through Off, Low, Mid, and High

Presenter:

“The feature is set to Mid by default, but can be adjusted from Off, Low, Mid, and to High.”

Caption “Directional 3-capsule Mic” over presenter speaking to camera

Presenter:

“Capturing sound quality is just as important as capturing image quality, right?”

Caption “Directional 3-capsule Mic” over graphic of top of camera zooming in to show 3 mics, then vlogger shooting selfie at temple speaking toward camera

Presenter:

“The ZV-1 has three special-purpose built-in mics. These mics are directional, and capture sound better from the front, meaning that your voice will always come through clear.”

Cut back to presenter with caption “Wind screen”, then presenter attaching the wind screen to his camera

Presenter:

“If you’re filming outside, all you have to do is attach this wind screen, and instantly the sound of the wind is reduced. This screen comes with the ZV-1. Check out this comparison video I made.”

Clip of the presenter on a windy urban rooftop

Presenter:

“Now I’ll show you how it sounds with and without the wind screen.”

Split screen showing clips of the presenter, with the left captioned “Without a wind screen”, and the right captioned “With a wind screen”

Presenter:

“This is the quality without the wind screen.”

“This is how it sounds with the wind screen attached.”

“This is the quality without the wind screen.”

“This is how it sounds with the wind screen attached. Can you hear the difference?”

(Right sound is much clearer)

Cut back to presenter sitting at table, with caption “External mic”

Presenter:

“If you want to improve sound quality even more, try using an external mic.”

Caption “External mic” over images of Sony ECM- XYST1M and ECM-GZ1M, then scene of external mic with wind shield being attached to the Multi Interface Shoe on the ZV-1 body, then cut back to presenter

Presenter:

“For example, Sony’s XYST1M or GZ1M can be attached using a Multi Interface Shoe, so that you don’t have to worry about charging the mic or any external cables. Of course, the ZV-1 has a mic jack also, so you can use any other mics that you might already have.”

Caption “Grips” with presenter holding up a wireless shooting grip, then images of two ZV-1 cameras mounted on wired grip VCT-SGR1 (left) and wireless grip GP-VPT2BT (right)

Presenter:

“This next one is a must-have for making vlogs. It’s a wireless shooting grip that can be converted into a tripod. There’s also a smaller wired version too.”

Caption “Grips” over shot of the presenter with a ZV-1 camera mounted on a shooting grip. With the grip held with its principal axis vertical, the joint in the grip is first rotated so that the camera tilts backward (pointing the lens upward) then back to the normal position. Next, the joint is rotated so that the camera rotates in the image plane (into the vertical shooting position) then back to the normal position.

Presenter:

“You can adjust the angle of the grip to your liking, and you can even use it to shoot vertical videos for the smartphone without rotating the footage later.”

Caption “Control from grip” over clip of presenter operating ZV-1 zoom with controls on the shooting grip

Presenter:

“It has buttons for recording and zoom, and allows you to assign functions from the camera straight to the grip.”

Caption “Control from grip” over clip of presenter holding a ZV-1, mounted on a grip, at arm’s length

Presenter:

“With this grip you can get a wider-angle shot, and it’s a lot easier to keep filming over long periods of time.”

Caption “Image stabilisation” over presenter sitting at the table, then cut to vlogger shooting around temple

Presenter:

“Now I’ll explain some of the outdoor shooting features. When shooting outdoors, camera shake is something you almost always have to deal with. But camera shake is pretty much unavoidable if you’re filming while walking around, and it can make a video hard to watch. Luckily, the ZV-1 has powerful image stabilisation.”

Split screen showing clips of presenter walking while shooting selfie, with the left clip captioned “Image stabilisation Off” and the right clip captioned “Image stabilisation On”, with camera shake far more prominent in the left clip

Presenter:

“If you compare videos taken with image stabilisation off to those where it’s in active mode, you can see that the camera shake is dramatically reduced while walking.”

Caption “Auto brightness adjustment” over presenter sitting at the table

Presenter:

“Like I mentioned earlier, the ZV-1 will always keep your face looking bright.”

Split screen showing simulated clips of the presenter walking through varying illumination while shooting selfie, with the left clip captioned “Conventional camera” and the right clip captioned “Vlog camera ZV-1”, with the exposure of his face being far more stable in the right clip

Presenter:

“As you can tell by this comparison video, the ZV-1 keeps the face bright, even when walking through areas with different amounts of light.”

Caption “Creative expressions” over presenter sitting at table,

then caption “Slow motion” over slow-motion clip of vlogger’s hair,

then caption “Picture Effect: Miniature” over clip of model scooters,

then caption “Picture Effect: Partial color” over mostly grayscale clip of vlogger with only blue objects coloured,

then caption “Illustration” over still image of vlogger treated to look like painting

Presenter:

“Finally, I want to show you how the ZV-1 can enable you to get creative with the type of footage you take. There’s a ton of modes, ranging from slow motion to picture effects that make people and buildings appear small.”

Cut back to presenter sitting at table,

then caption “Still images” over still of vlogger,

then caption “Still images” over still of model,

then caption “Still images” over still of escalators

Presenter:

“And of course you can take high-quality pictures for use with social media or thumbnails.”

Cut back to presenter sitting at table,

then vlogger shooting selfie at temple,

then vlogger shooting product review,

then vlogger shooting selfie walking in city,

then presenter shooting selfie indoors,

then cut back to presenter

Presenter:

“Overall, the ZV-1 is a really impressive device. Its different functions and features make it the perfect camera for creating vlogs. Just leave the hard stuff to the camera, and focus on creating.”
